Federal Advocacy

While many government affairs firms "know" the individual members of Ohio's delegation to Congress, few Ohio-based government affairs professionals can call members of Congress "former colleagues," having actually worked with those members from around the country.  Our goal is to help clients navigate through the uncertain times in Washington, DC, and to ensure their ability to remain competitive.

The ability to coordinate a federal, state and local government affairs strategy can benefit many clients.  However, most companies must spread this work out amongst multiple providers in different locations.  We have the unique capability to provide effective lobbying services on the ground in both Ohio and Washington, DC, which facilitates an overall effective and cost controlled government affairs strategy.  We can also add value to a client's existing government affairs representatives by teaming with them.

Our Government Affairs team includes former Congressman Steve Austria, who spends much of his time working in D.C.  Steve served as the U.S. Representative for Ohio's 7th Congressional District from 2009 to 2013. He quickly became a leader amongst his peers and was elected by them to serve as the President of the Freshman Class of the 111th Congress. During his tenure, he served on the Committee on Appropriations.  Steve sat on the Subcommittee on Military Construction and Veterans Affairs; Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, including NASA; and the Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs. He also served as a member of the Homeland Security Committee and Budget Committee.

Our clients leverage Steve's experience and knowledge of the federal government and Congress to assist them in addressing their concerns in Washington D.C.
