Zaino Hall & Farrin LLC is excited to announce that Eric Springfeldt has joined the firm as Tax Associate. Eric’s focus will be assisting clients with Sales and Use Tax, including audit defenses, refund reviews, tax research, tax planning and compliance, and voluntary disclosures.
Prior to joining Zaino Hall & Farrin LLC, Eric worked as a Tax Examiner Specialist in the Audit Division at the Ohio Department of Taxation. He specialized in coordinating and conducting Ohio Sales and Use tax audits and refund investigations. He worked with businesses of all sizes and various industry types, including manufacturers, construction contractors, healthcare facilities, restaurants, and various retailers. Eric conducted audits using a variety of audit methodologies, including statistical sampling and block sampling. In addition to Sales and Use tax, he also conducted audits for Ohio Commercial Activity Tax (CAT), Employer Withholding Tax, and International Fuel Tax (IFTA). Eric also served as a mentor to less experienced auditors in Sales and Use Tax.
